Community Sponsorship Program

The USA Karate Community Sponsorship Program (CSP) was created to fill a growing need in our community.  Martial Arts training is a time-honored and proven method of molding at-risk children into positive, self-disciplined members of the community.  Unfortunately, A martial arts school, no matter how much we want to help everybody, is still a business  and must still be able to simply pay the bills.  That is why we charge tuition.  At USA Karate, we do our best to keep our prices very reasonable and affordable in order to accommodate people of all different income brackets.  But even then we come across a few very deserving people who simply can't afford the cost of tuition. 

This is where the CSP comes in.  Through the CSP some of these families can take advantage of the power of martial arts training.  Although we would like to extend the CSP to everyone who needs it, there is just not that much money to go around.  As one can imagine, there are many who would insist they are "in-need" simply because they just don't want to pay.  Therefore, to qualify for this funding, prospective candidates must show they are in need.  Once the need has been established, we then examine the students potential for growth and willingness to learn. Most importantly is the ability for the receiving family to recognize the value of the sponsor's gift. 

Once a family is determined to be qualified for the CSP, we then determine how to best match a sponsor to the family.  This could mean going to one of our sponsors to determine which one would like to support the family.  It could also mean that the tuition be drawn from the CSP account funded by monies received from donations and fund raisers.

There are a variety of ways to become a sponsor.  We are very flexible and willing to accommodate almost anyone who wants to be a sponsor.  Sponsors can be either a person or family, a business, or even an independent/private organization.  Sponsorship generally falls into these 2 basic categories:

    Benefactors - These sponsors are those who are willing to pay for a specific student's tuition either in-part or in-full.
    Donators - These sponsors contribute to the CSP Fund with non-student specific donations.
