Sensei
Kyle started training in the martial arts of Tae Kwon Do at the age of 7,
eventually earning the rank of Red (Brown) Belt. After the schools he attended
had closed down, and at the invitation of a friend, he started training here at
USA Karate in December 2001 under the guidance of Shihan Tony Abatecola.
Although he had held a high rank in his previous art, he elected to begin his
training from the beginning and started off as a white belt. Throughout his
training, he has strived not only to understand, but also apply what he has
learned. He has since earned the Black Belt Rank of Nidan (2nd
Degree) and continues to work hard.
Sensei Kyle graduated from St. Raphael’s Academy in 2002 and went on the graduate with Honors with Bachelor Degrees in Psychology and Criminal Justice with a minor in Sociology from Rhode Island College. He successfully published his honors thesis on Domestic Violence in Rhode Island and also served as a Reserve Police Officer. He is currently attending graduate school at Roger Williams University for Criminal Psychology.
